Last year, Boston Partners in Education counted a total of 914 volunteer academic mentors in programs ranging from Math Rules!, our Power Lunch Program, and our School Volunteer Program. Our volunteer academic mentors tell us that they’ve been impacted by their work with Boston Partners in Education and inspired by their students.
Some of the ways Boston Partners in Education’s volunteer academic mentors are impacted include:

- Developing a connection to the local community
Corporate volunteers also get a chance to get to know their colleagues outside of the workplace - fostering an increased understanding and respect for one another
"Recently, I asked my student if any of the self-portraits hanging in the hallway were his. Proudly, my student showed me the one he had drawn and colored – the picture was of a boy with a book. The speaking bubble exclaimed, ‘I love reading!’ I felt so happy to have been part of that transformation.”
