OUR PROGRAMS

"My experience with Boston Partners in Education has been extremely positive. Volunteers from their academic mentoring programs help provide extra support that our students need -- they connect with our students in a special way and build relationships with them that have lasting effects. Our students' hearts and minds are truly touched by our Boston Partners in Education volunteers!"
-- Almudena Abeyta, Principal, McKay K-8 School

Boston Partners in Education provides academic mentoring programs at every grade level, particularly focusing on mathematics and literacy. Programs run primarily during the school day. The backbone of each program is the partnership it establishes -- between a child and a volunteer or a school and a local corporation, community, or university. Boston Partners in Education has a 41 year history of providing curriculum development, volunteer training and placement, and on-site support necessary to ensure that each program supports student advancement and the work of Boston's public school teachers.

Expected outcomes for students participating in our programs include:
     ~ increased interest in academics
~ improved academic performance in math and English Language Arts
     ~ increased self-confidence
~ improved habits of mind (purpose, flexible thinking, communicating clearly,
taking risks and demonstrating social responsibility, making connections/finding
        relevance)
