FOR VOLUNTEERS

"Volunteering through Boston Partners in Education has made me realize just how much personal and individual attention means to a child. It feels so good to know that I made an important difference in someone's life."

Boston Partners in Education works hard to maintain our expertise in recruiting, training, placing and supporting our skilled volunteers and developing programs that align with city and state educational frameworks. These models have the breadth and depth needed to make significant gains in a child's student achievement and self-confidence. We're proud of what we do, we're proud of our dedicated volunteers, and we thank them for their generous contribution of time and knowledge that has inspired and helped so many students over the years.

How can you get involved?
There are many ways you can make a difference in a child's life through Boston Partners in Education.

We place over 700 volunteers annually in Boston Public Schools to provide a broad range of support services to students, teachers, and schools. Opportunities are available for individuals as well as businesses. There are one time and weekly arrangements available. All volunteers are screened according to the guidelines created by Boston Partners in Education for the Boston Public Schools. Our volunteers first need to complete the Volunteer Registration Form. After an initial interview with Boston Partners in Education, we ask that volunteers attend two training sessions prior to the start of tutoring. One session focuses on the principles of tutoring and mentoring. The second relates to the subject content a volunteer intends to tutor.
Please note that all Boston Partners in Education volunteers must undergo a criminal background check (CORI) annually.

We invite you to explore the rest of this site and review the many ways you can enrich a child's learning experience. Also, be sure to read up on our different academic  mentoring programs, which reach thousands of students each year.
