WHO WE ARE

Boston Partners in Education is widely recognized for its expertise in recruiting, training, and managing volunteers and in developing programs that align with city and state educational frameworks.  They have proven their value through testing and independent evaluations and are endorsed by the highest levels of the Boston Public Schools Administration.

All of our volunteers are trained in both tutoring and mentoring so they may become effective academic mentors to all students involved in our programs.

A Unique Approach
REACH: We recruit, train, place and support volunteers in all grade levels (K-12) to tutor and mentor students during school hours.

EXPERTISE: With over 40 years of experience understanding education policy, successful training models, and curriculum development, we can effectively address the needs of our students as the premier partner of Boston Public Schools.

SCOPE: We manage every aspect of our partnerships by fielding requests, designing and implementing effective programs, training and placing academic mentors, and providing on-going support to ensure we are meeting our goals.

Our Volunteers
Boston Partners in Education volunteers come from all walks of life and levels of education and experience. They come from community-based businesses, colleges, and organizations, as well as Boston's neighborhoods and suburbs. Our goal is to expand our reach in the community and increase our volunteer base by 30% over the next academic year, and develop strong partnerships with them to raise our volunteer retention rate to 20%. This will allow us to better serve the students in our programs, who develop meaningful relationships with their academic mentors.

Our Students
Participants mirror the demographics of the Boston Public Schools. The student body is 44% African-American, 33% Hispanic, 14% White, 9% Asian, and less than 1% Native American.
